REALE Condimenti are REAL, 100% Balsamic Vinegar! There is just ONE ingredient – grapes. The Leonardi family has been making Balsamic Vinegar for 147 years with sheer artistry and craft. The 8-year 100% Balsamic Vinegar is bold, rich, and on the sweeter side. It is delicious on any salad or greens, but also try it on grilled or roasted meats, fish, vegetables, and cheese. It can even lean sweet enough to be a topping for strawberries or ice cream!

How it's produced: In the 8-year production process of REALE Condimenti Balsamici, the cooked, concentrated grape juice must be placed in large wooden barrels (oak, chestnut, cherry, ash, juniper, and mulberry) with a starter. This process is similar to making sourdough bread. At the end of the first year, the must is then moved to smaller barrels made from a different wood to be stored for the next year. Each wood type imparts a different flavor to the vinegar, resulting in a well-balanced flavor. At the end of the 8-year cycle, they must have gone through 8 barrels of different woods to achieve its full character and distinctive flavor. The flavor of Balsamic evolves over time, and the longer it ages, the more affluent and sweeter it becomes.

What about Aceto Balsamico? Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP is a name that was created in 2009 so that more and less expensive balsamic vinegar could be sold. This product can be made with grape must that has only aged 60 days, and the product can be comprised of 80% wine vinegar.

Some interesting facts concerning balsamic are that caramel coloring and other things can also be added. REALE Condimenti Balsamici is made with one key ingredient. The word “Condimento” for Balsamic Vinegar tells you that the product is made from 100% pure grape must. However, if you're looking for a bit more tartness and acidity, our REALE 4-year Aceto Balsamico di Modena is made of just two ingredients: 80% cooked grape must and 20% wine vinegar.

One of the average nutritional values of balsamic includes being low in calories. This makes it an ideal choice when adding flavor to a dish without adding any sodium or fat. Balsamic vinegar is also a good source of calcium, phosphorous, potassium, and magnesium.
