Ingredients for 4:
- 1 pound of hamburger meat of your preference
- 2 medium onions
- 4 oz. Taleggio Cheese/sliced
- 2 Tablespoons REALE Balsamic Glaze with Garlic plus additional for drizzle (R0914)
- 2 tablespoons Colonna EVOO Infused with mustard (CO343)
- 1 tablespoon of Honey (optional)
- 2 Tablespoons of Butter
- 4 Brioche Rolls/Buns
- Pinch of Kosher Salt
- Freshly ground pepper
Heat Grill to Medium Hot
Prepare 4 Patties. Salt/Pepper and allow to sit while cooking the onions.
Julienne or thin slice the onions.
Heat 1 Tablespoon of butter and 2 Tablespoons of Colonna EVOO Infused with mustard. Or drizzle more liberally over pan if desired.
Cook Onions on low heat for several minutes until they begin to soften and turn golden brown. Stir or toss frequently.
Add the additional Tablespoon of Butter and 2 Tablespoons of REALE Balsamic Glaze with Garlic. Add a teaspoon of honey for added sweetness if desired. The Glaze and Caramelizing process alone with will sweeten the mixture.
Cook down for several more minutes over low heat. Onions should be very soft.
Grill Burgers for 4-5 mins per side to desired doneness. Place Taleggio slices on top of each patty and close lid for 30 seconds to melt. Remove patties and place Brioche buns face down on grill for a minute to heat and slightly toast.
Place each patty on a bun and top with caramelized onion. Drizzle with additional Glaze, if desired….and we bet you will!
