The author of this 2003 First Edition continues her career in the food industry as Culinary Director of the Sinskey Winery, which she co-owns with her husband, in the Napa Valley. In 1996, Food & Wine Magazine named her one of the “Best New Chefs” in America. This was her first cookbook – another came out in 2009. The book is set up by seasons, with ten menus per season, for 180 recipes total. The recipes draw on her long experience in California, but also on her youth in the Northeastern USA. We found the recipes easy to follow and comprised of easily obtained ingredients. Thomas Keller liked it well enough to write the Foreword, and that’s quite a feat.
