ITALICO BIO (Organic) Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced by Agraria Riva del Garda on the northern shore of Lake Garda in northern Italy. ITALICO is a blend of three high quality olive varieties – mostly Frantoio and Leccino olives. This medium-bodied oil has a delightful, clean flavor with a slight peppery aftertaste. It is best used for cooking and is considered a staple EVOO in the Lake Garda region. Locals have been growing superior olives in this area for over 2000 years. The “Lake Effects” brings warmer winds, creating a micro climate in which olives thrive! The price point of ITALICO is soft and while it is the region’s base EVOO, you would never know it from the taste!

Aroma: Medium/light fruity with a slight herbaceous quality
Flavor: Harmonious with slightly bitter and spicy
Pairing: You can use this EVOO in all cooking applications. It is perfect for pan searing, adding flavor to roasted or grilled vegetables and meats, and can be used to fry foods. Interesting facts: Keeping the temperature below 385 F helps prevent the health benefits from being destroyed. Also when you use EVOO in frying, much less of the oil remains in the food vs canola or other oils made from nuts!

Agraria Riva del Garda won over Randall's heart and stomach at a blind tasting of 100+ EVOOs at Vinitaly. It is not logical that superior EVOO could come from Lake Garda because of how far north it is. However, the soft breezes coming from the south get trapped by the edges of the Dolomite mountains and create an ideal micro-climate.View The Profile
