This 2003 first edition is in top condition. Per the dust jacket, “(r)ecipes have been engineered and tested expressly for the home cook.”  I love this book for the gorgeous food photos, for the separate pictures of the ingredients, for the ID of ingredients as sour, salty, sweet or bitter; and, finally, for the clear info on prep and cooking time + wine suggestions. Whether for yourself or a friend, it’s my opinion that it would be hard to go wrong with this cookbook……
