This 100 year old Balsamic Vinegar is one of the most special Balsamic Vinegars available in the world today. Each bottle is numbered and has been aged in wood barrels with annual transfers into different wood barrels so that to acquire the flavors of each wood (oak, chestnut, cherry, ash, mulberry, acacia). Each of the 100 barrels, called a battery, is smaller than the previous barrel and each year one-half of the last barrel is bottled for sale. The Leonardi family certifies that not only is the product processed and bottled in Modena, but it is also made from grapes grown in the Modena area (Lambrusco and Trebbiano varieties).
