On offer is a previously owned 1992 first edition in a dust jacket, both in very good condition. The book was originally advertised as “A collection of more than three hundred recipes for everything from breads to desserts presents a practical approach to cooking techniques, appliances, and ingredients designed to save the cook time and effort.” The cover notes say, “offers not only an exhaustive supply of fabulous recipes, but also the know-how to make the recipes simply, effortlessly and quickly” – a good goal then and now. And her tips sprinkled through the text are timeless: I got the idea of freshening a leftover soup with fresh herbs or wine from her!
