Product Info

Roux’s early training was in France, where he learned the importance of simplicity and of using only top-quality raw ingredients. This book was compiled in 2003, when he had been a runner for about 10 years. From a casual hobby, jogging became more important in his life, and he had trained for and successfully completed 8 marathons when he decided to share his program. When he is in training, he basically avoids red meat and animal fats; eats lots of fruit and vegetables; plenty of bread; some chocolate; and a reasonable amount of wine. Therefore, these are the parameters for the recipes in this book: using seasonal ingredients – full of taste and of nutritional value – prepared as simply as possible. The book has lovely photos, approachable recipes and readily available ingredients. It is a 2003 UK first edition in excellent condition, with dust jacket. Ingredients are in metric measures.

ABOUT OUR SHOP

Most of our Extra Virgin Olive Oil is from Lake Garda in Italy. Olive aren't typically grown so far north. However, the soft breezes coming from the south, across Lake Garda, get trapped by the leading edges of the Dolomite mountains and create a micro-climate. One that is ideal for growing olives!
