If you’ve enjoyed cookbooks for a while, this 2001 volume might add to your collection of the Barefoot Contessa’s books. If you don’t know her, this is a good book with which to start your collection/acquaintance. The book is arranged by season and includes four party menus for each season. One of my favorites is an autumn party called Not Thanksgiving. The menus are for serious events like the boss coming to dinner or a canoe picnic mid-summer. The recipes come from her decades as a caterer but also her role as host, where her primary goal was that the event be fun. Enjoy!
