The cover notes tell us that for over 20 years Claiborne kept leather journals with the menus of meals he had prepared. Guests were encouraged to sign them. Artwork was contributed by Ed Gobbi and Jacques Pepin “on the scene.” This book is a selection from the best of the menu books. Claiborne introduces each menu so clearly and simply you almost feel him telling you about the dinner. He references friendships – Paul Prudhomme allowed him to include a Gumbo recipe  of Paul’s own- and doesn’t mind telling you when something didn’t work out…….like the missing Easter eggs. This book is for anyone who enjoys eating, cooking or entertaining. On offer is a 1985 first edition with dust jacket in very good condition.
