Product Info

This is a 1963 reprint of the 1960 first edition. It has 728 pages of recipes and fabulous  vintage photos. Per the Preface: “Ladies’ Home Journal has always been concerned with  the family pocketbook, the busy mother’s time, and the importance that good food has in  American living. Here are recipes for day-to-day meals, for ordinary entertaining, and for special occasions and feasts.” I was especially taken by Chapter 12, on Sauces. It has  seventy of “the most popular,” and is as relevant today as when it was printed. No dust  jacket. Wear on front cover, but interior is unmarked. This book was pre-owned.

ABOUT OUR SHOP

Most of our Extra Virgin Olive Oil is from Lake Garda in Italy. Olive aren't typically grown so far north. However, the soft breezes coming from the south, across Lake Garda, get trapped by the leading edges of the Dolomite mountains and create a micro-climate. One that is ideal for growing olives!
