This is one of those books that makes me think, “Why didn’t I think of that as a book proposal?” The author travelled across 12 Southern states, searching for the region’s best pork. You can use this book as a cookbook or a travel guide ……. And why not both? The author begins with an Anatomical Survey. Then he profiles – and has recipes from – 52 well-known and not so well-known eateries.  Before you ask, there are dessert recipes such as Maple Bacon Brittle Ice Cream. 2014 paperback, appears to be first edition, in excellent condition.

Most of our Extra Virgin Olive Oil is from Lake Garda in Italy. Olive aren't typically grown so far north. However, the soft breezes coming from the south, across Lake Garda, get trapped by the leading edges of the Dolomite mountains and create a micro-climate. One that is ideal for growing olives!
