Not of Asian background, she became interested in Chinese culture after studying it in a high school art class. During her career, she operated China Moon restaurant in San Francisco and wrote cookbooks that popularized Chinese cuisine in America. This cookbook is credited with being one of the first fusion cuisine cookbooks – a stunning marriage of Chinese tastes and techniques with California flair. Tropp regarded this book as a “private cooking school.” Offered is a 1992 first printing paperback in good condition. (previously owned)
