The 4-Year REALE Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP is made of 80% cooked grape juice (known as grape must) and 20% wine vinegar, aged for 4 years. Like all other balsamic condiments, the more age it has, the more creamy and versatile in the kitchen it will be. Unlike most grocery store Aceto Balsamico, this product is the real deal, produced by the family-run Acetaia Leonardi, with NO additives and a much higher percentage of real grapes.

4-Year Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP “Classico” is a sweet-and-sour condiment made by the Leonardi family at Acetaia REALE. The Leonardi family has been making Balsamic Vinegar for 147 years with sheer artistry and craft. They use Lambrusco and Trebbiano grapes that are grown on their estate in Italy. These grapes are cooked at a low temperature for 36 hours, and the concentrated cooked grape juice that results is called grape must.

How it's produced: The 4-Year REALE Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP is made of 80% cooked grape must and 20% wine vinegar. Like all other balsamic condiments, the more age it has, the more creamy and versatile in the kitchen it will be. With 4 years, it is beautifully complex. The higher the content of grape must, the higher the quality.

Why is this more expensive than grocery store Balsamic Vinegar? When you taste REALE's products, you will immediately know the difference. The REALE Balsamic Vinegars DO NOT use caramel coloring or preservatives and contain a much higher percentage of grape must- 80% in this case. Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP is a name created in 2009 so that less expensive balsamic could be sold. These products, like what you see in the grocery store, can be made with grape must that is only aged in wood barrels for 60 days and contain only 20% grape must. Caramel coloring and other things can also be added. You get what you pay for!
